User guide
Everything you need to get the most out of NutriQuo, whether you're a professional or a patient. Sections tagged professional apply to the nutritionist's panel; sections tagged patient apply to the patient's app.
1. Sign up professional
NutriQuo offers a 7-day free trial, no credit card required, with 5 licenses available.
- Go to nutriquo.app and click Start free trial.
- Enter your professional email and your name or your clinic's name.
- We'll send you an email with a login link. Click on it and you'll go straight into the panel.
Note We don't use passwords. Each time you need to log in we send you a one-time link to your email. Simpler and safer.
During the trial you have 5 licenses to invite the patients you want to test with. If you subscribe within those 7 days, the licenses and patient data already active are automatically preserved.
2. Access the panel professional
To log in at any time:
- Go to nutriquo.app/login.
- Enter your email.
- You'll receive a login link in your email. It's valid for 15 minutes.
- Click it and you're in. Your session lasts 7 days before needing a new link.
3. Assign a patient professional
In the panel you'll see a table with all your licenses. Available ones show as Free.
- Click Assign on a free license.
- Fill in the patient's email and an alias to identify them in your panel (e.g. "Mary G. — 45 yrs").
- In this step you can already enter the clinical notes (allergies, intolerances, conditions).
- Confirm. The patient will receive an email with their personal code and instructions to install the app.
Important The alias and clinical notes are private to you; the patient only sees the clinical notes because they directly affect the recommendations they receive. They don't see the alias.
4. Configure the patient professional
You can click Edit on a patient at any time to access their record. It has three optional blocks:
4.1 Clinical notes
Free text with everything the AI must consider: allergies, intolerances, pathologies, dietary restrictions. For example: celiac, allergic to nuts, hypertensive, high cholesterol, 12 weeks pregnant.
The AI reads these notes on every analysis of every meal the patient logs, and when generating plans. If it detects an incompatible food, it shows the patient an alert.
4.2 Patient details
Sex, age, height, weight, and physical activity level. With these details the AI can compute real energy expenditure and tune recommendations (Mifflin-St Jeor calculation).
4.3 Nutritional goals
Main goal (heart-healthy, weight loss, muscle gain, maintenance), daily calories, macros (protein, carbs, fat), and maximum limits (saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium).
Sync The patient data and goals you set sync with their app: on first login they'll already have them filled in. The patient can tweak locally, but if you change them later, the app picks up your updated version.
5. Design the meal plan professional
Each patient can have one assigned meal plan. Click the Plan button on their row to open the editor.
5.1 General settings
- Plan name: descriptive (e.g. "1500 kcal deficit plan").
- Start date: when the plan begins.
- End date (optional): leave it empty and the plan cycles indefinitely.
- Cycle: how many distinct days the plan has. Can be 1 (same plan every day), 7 (weekly), 14 (biweekly), 30 (monthly), or custom (1 to 60).
- General notes: instructions the patient sees at the top of their plan.
5.2 Daily meals
Define the moments of the day (breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner by default). You can add as many as you want with custom names (Snack 11:00, Post-workout, etc.) up to a maximum of 10.
5.3 Daily plan
For each day of the cycle, write in each meal what the patient should have. The more specific, the better (amounts, preparation):
"Grilled chicken breast (150g) with mixed salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, grated carrot — 200g total) dressed with 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil (5ml). Basmati rice (60g raw)."
Three quick actions speed up editing:
- Copy from previous day: replicates the previous day as-is.
- Copy to another day: applies the current day to any other day in the cycle.
- Clear day: empties all meals for that day.
5.4 Generate the plan with AI
The ✨ Generate with AI button at the top of the editor creates a full plan automatically.
The AI uses these sources to design it:
- Clinical notes (allergies, conditions).
- Patient details (sex, age, height, weight, activity) — to compute calories and portions.
- Nutritional goals (main goal, macros, limits).
- The meal and day configuration you have in the editor.
If any of the first three is missing, you'll be warned. You can proceed anyway: the plan will be generated with standard values.
Important The AI-generated plan is not saved automatically. It appears in the editor for you to review, adjust and click Save plan. Nothing goes to the patient until you confirm.
Generation takes 20-40 seconds. Don't close the window until it finishes.
6. Reports received from patients professional
Your patients can send you a PDF report directly from their app whenever they want. You don't have to ask them via email or WhatsApp: you'll see it in your panel and you'll get a notification by email.
6.1 When a report arrives
When a patient sends you a PDF, two things happen:
- You receive an automatic email with the subject "New report from [patient]". It includes a direct link to the panel and, if the patient added a note, the text of the note.
- It appears in the "Reports received" section of your panel, with a purple dot next to the patient's name and a red badge showing the number of unread reports.
6.2 View and manage reports
The "Reports received" table shows for each PDF:
- Patient: name/alias and email.
- Analysis range: dates the report covers.
- Received: when they sent it.
- PDF size.
- Patient's note: if the patient added a message when sending (e.g. "I exercised more this week").
Available actions:
- View PDF: opens the report in a new tab. Once you click it, the "unread" badge disappears.
- 🗑 Delete: removes the report from your panel. The patient is not affected; it's only deleted on your side. Useful for keeping the list tidy.
Privacy You don't see the patient's daily meal logs directly — only the PDF reports they send you. The patient decides when to share their progress with you.
7. My profile and notifications professional
From the My profile button (top right of the panel) you access your account settings.
7.1 Professional details
Here you fill in the data that will appear on your invoices and on platform-generated communications (e.g. the emails patients receive when you assign them a license):
- Full name
- Type: independent professional or clinic
- Clinic name (if applicable)
- Phone
- Tax ID
- License number (optional)
- Full address (street, postal code, city, country)
If you're missing essential details, you'll see an orange banner at the top of your panel prompting you to complete them.
7.2 Email notifications
At the bottom of the My profile modal you have two options that control automatic notifications:
- When a patient activates their license: you get an email the first time the patient enters their code in the app. Useful to confirm they've started using it.
- When a patient sends you a report: you get an email each time a patient shares a PDF with you.
Both are enabled by default. You can disable any you don't need and they're turned off instantly. Reports will still arrive in your panel even if you disable the email — only the email notification will stop.
8. Add more licenses professional
After the trial you can subscribe to:
- Starter Pack: 5 licenses for €59.90/month or €599/year (-17%).
- Extra license: €10.99/month or €109.90/year each. Add as many as you need; each subscription is independent.
To add a subscription go to Manage subscriptions from the panel and pick the plan. We send you to checkout (powered by Lemon Squeezy) where you enter your tax details so invoices arrive automatically with the right VAT.
9. Release a seat professional
When a patient finishes their follow-up with you, click Release on their row:
- The patient's code stops working immediately. If they open the app, they can't use it.
- A new free license is generated in its place that you can assign to another patient.
- The meal plan and data tied to the previous patient are kept separate.
10. Cancel the subscription professional
From Manage subscriptions you can cancel any subscription individually. If you cancel the Starter Pack, all others also close (the Starter is the base subscription).
You keep access until the end of the paid period. After that, data is kept for 90 days in case you reactivate. After 90 days it's permanently deleted.
11. Get your access code patient
When your nutritionist assigns you a license, you'll receive an email with:
- Your personal code, formatted as
NUTRI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. - A link to the app: app.nutriquo.app.
- Instructions to install and set up.
The code is yours, don't share it. Your nutritionist does not have direct access to what you eat; data stays under your control.
12. Install the app patient
NutriQuo is a Web App (PWA). It's not in the App Store or Google Play: install it directly from your browser. Works offline after first load.
10.1 On iPhone / iPad (Safari)
- Open Safari and go to app.nutriquo.app.
- Tap the Share button (square with up arrow, in the bottom bar).
- Scroll to Add to Home Screen and tap.
- Confirm. A purple NutriQuo icon will appear on your home screen.
10.2 On Android (Chrome)
- Open Chrome and go to app.nutriquo.app.
- A banner will appear at the bottom with Install. If not, tap the menu (⋮ top right) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Confirm. The icon will appear on your home screen.
10.3 First-time access
- Open the app from the new icon.
- Enter the code you got by email.
- You'll see "Activated" and go straight to the "Today" tab.
Note If you had an account on another phone, entering the same code automatically restores all your data from the cloud (it will ask first).
13. Log meals by text patient
In the Today tab you have a text field where you can write what you've eaten in natural language:
- "a Greek yogurt with honey and blueberries"
- "half a plate of pasta with tomato and tuna"
- "two slices of whole grain toast with tomato and oil"
Press Log. The AI takes a few seconds to process it and returns the breakdown: calories, protein, carbs, fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, fiber, sodium.
Tip The more specific, the better the estimate. "100g cooked rice" beats "a bit of rice".
14. Log meals by photo patient
Next to the text field there's a camera button. Two uses:
12.1 Photo of the plate
For a non-packaged meal, photograph the plate. The AI identifies the visible ingredients, estimates portions and computes the values. You can add context in text before sending (e.g. "with 30g of olive oil").
12.2 Photo of the nutrition label
For a packaged product, photograph the nutrition table on the package (not the front — the per 100g/serving table). The AI reads the values directly and applies them to your log. This is the most accurate option because data comes straight from the manufacturer.
15. Confirm meals from the plan patient
If your nutritionist has set you a plan, the Plan tab shows what's scheduled for today:
- Each meal of the day appears with its name, scheduled time, and description.
- If you've eaten exactly that, press I had this on the corresponding meal. It logs automatically and appears in the "Today" tab.
- If you've followed the whole day to the letter, press I followed the whole day at the top to log all meals at once.
- If you skipped something or ate something different, just log it manually by text or photo.
You can navigate to previous or next days with the arrows to see the plan for other days.
16. AI alerts patient
If you log a meal that conflicts with the indications your nutritionist has registered (allergies, intolerances, restrictions), the app flags it with an orange triangle ⚠ next to the food.
Tap the alert to see the specific reason. For example: "Contains gluten; your professional has noted celiac disease". Talk to your nutritionist if you have questions.
Important Alerts are guidance, not a substitute for medical judgement. If a meal has already given you symptoms, contact your professional.
17. Generate and send the PDF report patient
Your data is yours and you decide when to share it with your professional. NutriQuo makes it easy: in two taps you have the PDF generated, downloaded to your phone, and sent to your nutritionist.
17.1 Generate the PDF
- Go to the History tab.
- Tap PDF report.
- Pick the date range you want to include. There are quick presets (last 7 days, 14, 30, 3 months) or you can set a custom range.
- Tap Generate and download PDF. In a few seconds the PDF downloads automatically to your phone.
The report includes your profile, average metrics vs goals, time evolution in charts, plan adherence if your professional set one, top foods to reduce and keep, and the daily detail.
17.2 Send the report to your nutritionist
After generating the PDF, a "Send to your nutritionist" block appears in the same modal:
- You can add an optional note (up to 500 characters) that your nutritionist will see next to the report. For example: "I exercised more this week" or "I had a social event on Friday and it shows in the data".
- Tap Send to nutritionist.
- Within seconds a green confirmation message appears: "Report sent!".
Your nutritionist receives it in their panel instantly. If they have email notifications enabled (default yes), they also get an email alert with your note.
Other ways to share If you prefer to send it yourself (email, WhatsApp...), the PDF is already downloaded on your phone. You can ignore the send block and share it manually. Both options work in parallel.
Privacy Your nutritionist only sees the reports you send them. They don't access your daily logs from their panel. You're in control.
18. Change phone patient
Your data syncs automatically to the cloud (encrypted, European infrastructure). To change device:
- Install the app on the new phone following section 12.
- Enter the same code you already have.
- When the app detects a cloud backup, it will ask if you want to restore it. Confirm.
- In a few seconds you'll have your full history, profile and settings.
19. Data privacy
NutriQuo is designed on the principle that the patient owns their data:
- All information is stored encrypted on European infrastructure (Cloudflare R2).
- Each patient's data is isolated from the rest.
- The nutritionist controls the clinical notes, profile, goals and plan they set; they don't see the patient's daily meal logs. To review them they need the patient to send the PDF report.
- We comply with GDPR. You can request access, rectification or deletion of your data at legal@nutriquo.app.
- More detail in the Privacy policy.
20. Support and contact
Stuck or have a suggestion? We're at:
- General support: soporte@nutriquo.app
- Legal and GDPR: legal@nutriquo.app
If you're a patient and you've lost your code, ask your nutritionist to resend it from their panel. NutriQuo can't give it to you directly (they control the licenses).
